University Clinic for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery
Together with two other Oldenburg hospitals, the University Clinic for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at Oldenburg Hospital provides orthopaedic and trauma surgery care for patients in the entire region. The University Clinic for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery is an integral part of maximum care within the Oldenburg/East Friesland trauma network for the Weser-Ems region. The clinic has been designated as a regional trauma centre in the Oldenburg/East Friesland trauma network since 2009. In 2017, the clinic team treated around 2,500 inpatients. 25 per cent of all operations are performed on an outpatient basis.
The clinic offers almost the entire spectrum of orthopaedics and trauma surgery. In the orthopaedic specialist area, the focus is on spinal surgery, endoprosthetics and replacement endoprosthetics, arthroscopic surgery and tumour orthopaedics. Similarly, the treatment of sports injuries and illnesses is particularly important. All modern osteosynthesis procedures, including spinal and pelvic osteosynthesis, are used in trauma surgery.
