Devisions of Medical Education and Educational Research
The interdisciplinary team of the Devision of Medical Education deals with strategies and concepts of competence-oriented training of doctors and other healthcare professions, both with regard to the concrete practice of training in universities and healthcare facilities and with regard to research into educational and medical sociological issues. The central aim is to support the step-by-step competence-oriented development of young doctors within the framework of the Oldenburg model degree course in human medicine in an advisory and research-oriented manner.
Important points are
- the continuous further development of the Oldenburg model course in human medicine on the basis of findings from our own research projects and the evaluation of the training program;
- the specific subject-related didactics of training at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and in the cooperating clinics;
- the research-based testing of modern e-learning and blended learning concepts;
- improving the quality of teaching and examinations and establishing a quality management system in teaching;
- the further training of university lecturers in higher education and subject didactics; and
- problem-oriented research into educational, professional and medical sociological issues.
In order to achieve this, we cooperate closely with other Schools at the University of Oldenburg, with the School of Medical Sciences at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and with the University Medical Center Oldenburg.
