University Clinic for Neurosurgery
The University Clinic for Neurosurgery at the Evangelical Hospital Oldenburg combines the departments of Head and Nerve Surgery with Specialised Neurosurgical Intensive Care (NCH) and Spinal Surgery (WSC).
The NCH focuses on brain tumour surgery, vascular and skull base surgery, craniocerebral traumatology and trigeminal pain treatment. The full range of peripheral nerve surgery is also covered.
Pre-operative examinations and post-operative outpatient care take place at the Medical Care Centre (MEVO). The MEVO was founded jointly by the Evangelical Hospital Oldenburg and the Oldenburg Hearing Centre. It is integrated into an interdisciplinary neuro centre via the Evangelical Hospital Oldenburg.

The teaching activities of the department include the following topics:

Research & Publications
The neurosurgical research activities of the Evangelical Hospital Oldenburg are closely linked to the neurobiology working group of the neurosensory research focus at the University of Oldenburg. In cooperation with the affiliated Institute OFFIS, the WSC department is in charge of the German Spine Register.
