Kurzbiographie

Jana Niemann absolvierte von 2014 bis 2017 ihr Bachelorstudium in Gesundheitswissenschaften und Management an der Hochschule Neubrandenburg mit Aufenthalten am Medical Research Council in The Gambia und an der Fachhochschule Kärnten. Anschließend absolvierte sie von 2017 bis 2019 den „European Master of Public Health” an der Universität Bielefeld mit einem Aufenthalt am Department „Medical Sociology” der Universität Antwerpen (Belgien). 

Seit Juli 2021 promoviert sie am Institut für Medizinische Soziologie und Rehabilitationswissenschaft der Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin mit dem Arbeitstitel „A site of silence: Exploring stories of leaving the pill“.

Von September 2020 bis September 2025 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Medizinische Soziologie der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg. In dieser Zeit koordinierte die Methodenwerkstatt „Qualitative Forschung” und war Projektpartnerin im Projekt „Empowerment für Vielfalt – Allianz für Chancengleichheit im Gesundheitswesen” an der Charité. Im September 2024 war als sie Gastwissenschaftlerin am Department for Thematic Studies – Technology and Social Change der Linköping University in Schweden. 

Seit Oktober 2025 ist sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin (operative Projektleitung) im Projekt „LEAH – Living with Endometriosis: Testing an Arts-based Design for Health Services Research” am Department für Versorgungsforschung der Fakultät VI – Medizin und Versorgungsforschung, Abteilung Präventions- und Rehabilitationsforschung der Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg tätig.
