Renormalization of φ4-Theories on Compact Riemannian Manifolds with Asymptotic Heat Kernel Expansions

In this talk, I will discuss the key concepts of our project, dealing with the renormalization of the φ4-theories on compact Riemannian manifolds with smooth boundaries. Our general approach is to prove the renormalizability of the φ4-theory via the Polchinski flow equation for the n-point correlators. I will discuss in this talk, how a modified version of the heat calculus, originally introduced by Prof. Daniel Grieser, can be used to construct a scaling expansion of the n-point correlators as well as a subsequent decomposition of the flow equations. This in turn is used to prove the position independence of the renormalization counterterms.

The key focus of the talk lies in the definition of the heat calculus and the corresponding modifications to the original version by Daniel Grieser, as well as the application to the simpler case of a φ4-theory on a compact Riemannian manifold without a boundary.
