Transition Bachelor - Master
In the process of transitioning from a Bachelor's to a Master's degree programme
- the application deadlines and
- the admission requirements
must be observed.
The Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation offers two postgraduate Master's programmes:
Master of Education in Special Needs Education (career goal: teacher training for special needs education)
Application deadline: usually 1 June - 15 August.
Admission requirements (according to admissions regulations):
The prerequisite for admission is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a suitable previous degree programme.
A previous degree programme in special education in combination with a teaching subject in accordance with the Nds. MasterVO-Lehr is suitable if it has the following admission requirements for a teaching degree:
- a total of at least 45 credit points in specialised science and subject didactics of two special education subjects, of which at least 6 credit points in subject didactics/mediation and
- a total of at least 27 credit points in specialised science and subject didactics of the teaching subject, of which at least 6 credit points in subject didactics/mediation and
- at least 63 credit points in educational sciences including a successfully completed special educational social internship and a successfully completed special educational school internship in accordance with the relevant examination regulations of the University of Oldenburg for the respective undergraduate degree programme of the chosen combination of subjects and
- a final thesis (incl. colloquium) totalling at least 11 credit points.
- In the case of a combination of subjects with Geography, at least 30 credit points in specialised science and didactics, of which at least 6 credit points in specialised didactics and at least 24 credit points in specialised science.
Provisional admission is possible (in accordance with admissions regulations) if...
a) the Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree is not yet available at the time of application, but no more than 30 credit points of the total number of credit points are missing and it is to be expected that the Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree will be proven by the end of the first semester of this Master's degree programme at the latest,
and/or
b) certain contents for the subject-related suitability of the previous degree programme are missing to the extent of no more than 30 credit points.
Information on the Master of Education Special Education degree programme
Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Education (extracurricular career goal)
Application deadline: usually 01/06 - 15/07.
Admission requirements (according to admissions regulations):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in special education and/or pedagogy and/or educational science totalling at least 60 CP or a comparable subject-related degree,
- at least 9 credit points in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
Admission to the degree programme is generally limited to 25 places.
Information on the M.A. Rehabilitation Education degree programme
Access to the Master's degree programme without a Bachelor's degree
In both Master's degree programmes (M.Ed. Special Education and M.A. Rehabilitation Education), provisional admission is possible if the Bachelor's degree programme has not yet been completed.
If (by the end of the application deadline) Bachelor's modules totalling at least 150 CP have already been completed and the admission requirements of the respective Master's degree programme have been met, provisional admission is possible.
In the case of provisional admission, the Bachelor's degree must be submitted by the end of the 1st Master's semester (i.e. by 31 March of the following year at the latest).
