Internships at the Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation
All degree programmes at the Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation include training modules (prx).
Different internships must be completed during the Bachelor's degree programme depending on the career goal. The requirements for students with the career goal of becoming a teacher can be found in Annex 3e of the Bachelor's examination regulations and in Annex 3b of the Master's examination regulations. The requirements for students with a non-school career goal can be found in Annex 3 of the Bachelor's examination regulations and in the examination regulations of the respective Master's degree programmes.
In the training modules, participation in an accompanying course is mandatory, which is started before the internship (preparation) and completed after the internship (follow-up). The training modules are completed with a module examination (usually in the form of an internship report).
Brief information on school internships in Special Needs Education
The administration and organisation of the school internships is carried out by the Centre for Teacher Training - Didactic Centre (DiZ).
Further information on the school internships can be found in the work placement reader and on the website of the DiZ.

The internship is prepared and followed up by a university course.
The work placement comprises 30 school days, which students complete over a period of 6 weeks (5 days of compulsory attendance per week) in February/March. The exact period of the internships is determined in consultation between students, teachers of the accompanying course and the school https://uole.de/diz/studium-und-lehre/praktika-im-lehramtsstudium/informationen-fuer-studierende/kernzeiten-an-der-praktikumsschule.

Module start: 1st Master's semester (internship registration in the 6th Bachelor's semester)
The 'Support Diagnostic Internship' is a compulsory part of the Master of Education degree programme in Special Education. As part of the internship, students should be involved in the process of support diagnostics for individual pupils and - as far as possible - be involved in support planning and evaluation. One component of this internship is the application of diagnostic methods (e.g. depending on the case: Behavioural observation, screenings, interviews, test procedures) as part of the support diagnostic process.
The work placement is prepared and followed up by a university course.
The work placement lasts 15 school days, which students complete during the semester (1-2 days/week with an introductory/observation week if necessary) in the period from March to July. The exact period of the placement is determined in consultation between the student and the placement school.
In exceptional cases (e.g. hardship application, independent search for an internship school) this internship can be carried out over a period of 3 weeks (5 days of compulsory attendance/week) in February/March, taking into account the core times https://uole.de/diz/studium-und-lehre/praktika-im-lehramtsstudium/informationen-fuer-studierende/kernzeiten-an-der-praktikumsschule, after consultation with the university and the school.

Important information for self-searchers (independent search in the prx103, prx540 and prx545 modules)
If you would like to independently search for an internship school outside the University of Oldenburg's assignment area (e.g. in another Federal State or abroad), please note the following procedure:
