Research and projects

The Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation specialises in empirical-applied research for evidence-based special needs education and rehabilitation practice in prevention, intervention and rehabilitation. The promotion of young researchers is a high priority. The Institute's central research focuses relate to I) barriers and multiple impairments, II) professionalisation in specialist training, III) digitality and assistive technologies and IV) communication. The journal "Sonderpädagogik in Niedersachsen" offers university students and staff the opportunity to publish research and practical projects, for example as part of a thesis.

"Sonderpädagogik in Niedersachsen" is the quarterly journal of the VDS (Berufsverband der Sonderpädagoginnen und Sonderpädagogen), Landesverband Niedersachsen (vdsniedersachsen.de).
