Digital media have changed how we communicate and inform ourselves. The question: "Can we believe a certain piece of information or trust a certain source?" is always on our minds and is becoming increasingly hard to answer as a result of the widespread use of artificial intelligence. At the same time, fake news poses a threat to social cohesion.

This booster unit will investigate how users obtain, evaluate and process information in the digital environment and analyse selected online communities to determine what creates trust and fuels mistrust.
