Lena Stange M.Sc.

Lena Stange studied cultural studies and French romance philology (B.A.) in Bremen and Avignon (France), and Public Health (M.Sc.) in Oldenburg. From 2012 to 2019, she was a research assistant at the Jade University of Applied Sciences in the section technology and health. Since April 2019, she is a research associate in the Medical Ethics division at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
Being a culture and health scientist, her research interest is located in the field of cultural and social understandings of health and illness, especially pertaining to individual conceptions of ageing, dying and death, as well as concepts of time, temporality and the good life. Her PhD project is about teleological aspects of life conceptions and advance directives. She is a medical ethics advisor and a member of the Clinical Ethics Committee of the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Oldenburg.
As a member of the “Research Cluster: Future of Care” she is responsible for a theoretical and empirical study on the distribution of care responsibilities along complex care paths.
Lena Stange is an associated member of the DFG-research group Medicine, Time and the Good Life (FOR 5022).
