Past Events

As part of the federal-state program for better study conditions and more quality in teaching (Quality Pact for Teaching), a number of projects focusing on research-based learning were funded.

Based on the observation that the results of student research projects often end up in a drawer and do not receive the appropriate attention, the first nationwide conference for student research (StuFo) took place in June 2016. The aim was to make student research visible beyond regional exchange and the usual disciplinary boundaries.
At this conference, around 140 students from 50 universities across Germany presented their research findings from a wide range of academic disciplines in front of a large audience.
The StuFo was also linked to the specialist conference for research-based teaching and learning, which was aimed at teachers and university didactics experts and was attended by 90 other visitors.

With the annual continuation of the format of a two-day academic conference for student research, students interested in research were offered a forum for exchange and networking beyond university boundaries. As is usual in an academic conference, there is a call for papers and all submitted contributions are assessed on the basis of criteria. Students from the host university are actively involved in the planning, design and implementation of the conferences from the outset. This project has been successfully established at various locations with eight StuFos to date and a total of more than 1300 participants.

All the pages available online with the programs, contributions, evaluations, publications and documentation are listed below.

The "Research on the Move" category provided space for exposés and unfinished research projects. Because at RUB, students can take teaching into their own hands with their own ideas and play an active role in shaping it. This has resulted in great formats that have become established and new ones are added every year.

Research Jungle - that was the motto of StuFo 2021 with the aim of showcasing the diversity of student research. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this event also had to switch to a hybrid model.
