Confidentiality / duration of counselling
Please note that all information that you share during counseling remains confidential. In addition, the duration of counseling sessions varies according to your concerns.

Consultation & counseling

The Staff Council of the University of Oldenburg offers support in many matters related to the job. Our consultations are available during working time and are subject to confidentiality.

Legal basis 
Our office hours are rooted in the regulations of the employees' representation low of Lower Saxony (NPersVG).

Counselling during working time
You have the right to take advantage of our counseling services during your working hours. However, during core working hours, your chief must be informed (the content or reason does not have to be stated).

Target groups
All employees are welcome contact us, regardless of whether they are employees covered by collective agreements, public officials, academic staff, teaching staff for special tasks (LfbA) or administrative staff.

Confidentiality
All conversation is treated confidentially (this also applies among members of the Staff Council). 

Possibilities and limits of counselling

Please note that we are not authorised to offer legal advice and cannot resolve conflicts on behalf of anyone!

Legal advice: Please note that since we are neither lawyers nor have the ability or permission to provide advice on labour law, you need to contact experts for legal advice in general.

Conflict resolution: We are committed to constructive resolution of conflict and a humane work culture. We actively prevent discrimination and bullying at work by providing support in conflict situations and by participating in the working group for conflict counseling. However, note that despite all support, we cannot resolve conflicts on your behalf.

Exclusion of topics: Please note that unfortunately there are topics as well as groups of employees that fall outside our area of responsibility. During initial consultation, you will be informed of the relevant details and directed further if necessary.
