Structures for ensuring and improving study quality
To supplement the university's genuine committee structure, additional positions and structures have been created at the Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation, which are intended to contribute to ensuring and increasing the quality of teacher training. These are outlined below.
Study programme committee
The study programme committee supports the preparation of the course offerings for approval by the institute council. It consists of the head of the Institute, the programme directors, two representatives of the student body and the Institute's administrative office and aims to process the re-registering students from the various working groups and, if necessary, to report back any potential need for change. The aim is to ensure the suitability and quality of the teaching programme.
Teaching Day
Once per academic year, the Director of the Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation invites students to a Teaching Day to discuss relevant content from the fields of teaching and study with active students from the student representatives and all members of the Institute. The content of the Teaching Day is prepared by a working group in which members from different status groups and the student body are involved.
Module conferences
Module coordinators are elected for each module of the course programme and invite all lecturers of a module to a module conference once a semester, often before the start of the course. The aim is to coordinate the content and organisation of the module.
Coordinator for Studies and Teaching
The Coordinator for Studies and Teaching at School I provides advice to teaching staff and students and provides information on issues relating to studies and teaching (e.g. access to courses, Allowances for special needs, management of studies, credit transfer). The organisation of the School's entire range of courses is a complex task. Changes to the module structure and module content are monitored by the faculty in an advisory capacity and implemented by the administration.

Coordinator for the expansion of special needs education
The position of Coordinator for the Expansion of Special Education was established against the background of the increase in study capacities in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in the subject of special education. The aim of this position is to support the Institute Director in the fulfilment of tasks in the areas of teaching and research as well as the promotion of young academics.

Course evaluation
Course evaluation is a university-wide element in the further development of teaching and serves to improve the evaluated courses on the basis of student feedback. In addition to an electronic evaluation of all courses via the Stud.IP learning management system, a comprehensive, paper-based evaluation is carried out for selected courses. Various feedback methods are also used in the seminars. The primary aim of the student course evaluation is to obtain re-registering student re-registration regarding the teaching quality of courses.
