International Open-Access-Week 2025
International Open-Access-Week 2025
This year's International Open Access Week (https://www.openaccessweek.org/) is taking place from Oct. 20–26 under the motto „Who owns our Knowledge“.
This year, the event is jointly organized by the open access teams at the University of Bremen and the University of Oldenburg allowing for a wider spectrum of both researchers at the resp. institutions and in the interested public.
The university libraries organized an online coffee lecture program and we would like to invite you to participate in these. From Oct. 20 to 24 the coffee lectures are scheduled for 12 noon as Zoom conferences. Two additional after-work sessions are planned for Monday and Tuesday at 5:00 pm. For the full program see below and on the left (pdf file).
The 2025 theme asks a pointed question about the present moment and how, in a time of disruption, communities can reassert control over the knowledge they produce. It also challenges us to reflect on not only who has access to education and research but on how knowledge is created and shared, where it has come from, and whose voices are recognized and valued.
