Innovation Campus
The Innovation Campus at the University of Oldenburg provides a creative and supportive environment for the development of innovative ideas and the construction of analogue and digital prototypes.
It was opened in February 2020 as part of the project "Innovative University Jade-Oldenburg!" (IHJO) project, which expired at the end of 2022. However, with it's Innovation workshop, Digital Laboratory, and Laboratory for Social Innovations, the Innovation Campus continues to exist beyond the end of project and can be used free of charge by members of the University and Jade University of Applied Sciences as well as companies and people interested in starting a business.
In addition, staff from the University's Department for Research and Technology Transfer offer individual counselling and events on a variety of topics including start-up support, knowledge transfer, and patent applications. The Innovation Campus is a place for co-operation between researchers, founders and entrepreneurs.
The Digital Lab
The Digilab offers the following services, among others:
- Augmented and virtual reality glasses
- High-performance computers and servers for data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
- Podcast studio
- Photo and video studio, product photo box
- Photo and video editing software
- 3D printer with various printing processes
- Microcontroller, sense boxes
For individual appointments and consultations, please contact the Innovation Campus team ([email protected]).
The Innovation Workshop
In addition to a lathe and milling machine, the Innovation Workshop also offers a metal 3D printer which can be used, for example, to produce customised implants in medical technology. Prior knowledge of how to operate the individual machines is required.
In addition to members of the university, companies may also use the equipment for science-related activities. The prerequisite for this is that the results and work are made transparent in terms of knowledge transfer and their benefit to the region.
The Innovation Workshop is now open on Tuesdays from 9.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and by appointment. Interested parties can contact Florian Juds ([email protected]) for information on the equipment and utilization options.
