Prof Dr Hans Gerd Nothwang has been Professor of Neurogenetics at the University of Oldenburg since 2007. He previously studied and gained his doctorate in the subject of biology at the University of Stuttgart. He conducted research at the Institute Jacques Monod of the University of Paris VII, the University of Tokushima (Japan), the University Hospital Freiburg and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin. In 2005, he completed his habilitation in animal physiology and neurobiology at the University of Kaiserslautern. At the University of Oldenburg, he established the neurogenetics working group with a research focus on the molecular genetic basis of hearing and deafness. He headed the Biology Study Committee for many years and was the founding director of the Department for Neuroscience for three years.
Hans Gerd Nothwang has been Dean of School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences since February 2018. He had previously held this position on an interim basis since April 2017. In 2023, Hans Gerd Nothwang was re-elected early for a second, now eight-year term as Dean.

Prof Dr Dr René Hurlemann has been Professor of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Oldenburg, Medical Director of the Karl Jaspers Clinic (KJK) and Director of the University Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the KJK since 2019. He studied medicine in Bonn and London and gained his doctorate in Bonn and Maastricht. His academic appointment to the Chair of Medical Psychology in Bonn was followed by affiliations as a visiting scientist at Caltech and the Laureate Institute for Brain Research. He currently heads an interdisciplinary research team in Oldenburg with a focus on social neuroscience, digital phenotyping, brain stimulation and phenomenological psychiatry. René Hurlemann is a member of the "American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP)", co-editor of the "Journal of Psychiatric Research" and member of the advisory board of "Der Nervenarzt".
René Hurlemann has been Vice Dean for Strategic Development at the School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences since April 2023.

Prof Dr Andrea Hildebrandt has been Professor of Psychological Methodology and Statistics at the University of Oldenburg since 2018. She was previously Junior Professor of Psychological Diagnostics and Personality Psychology at the University of Greifswald after studying psychology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and completing her doctorate in 2010. As a postdoctoral researcher, she researched and taught at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Humboldt University of Berlin. Andrea Hildebrandt was Director of the Department of Psychology at the University of Oldenburg from 2021 to 2023, is the deputy delegate to the Faculty Association of Psychology and a member of the Commission for Research Assessment and Ethics.
Since April 2023, Andrea Hildebrandt has been Vice Dean for Research and Groningen of School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Prof. Dr Tania Zieschang has been Professor of Geriatrics at the University of Oldenburg and Director of the University Clinic for Geriatrics at Oldenburg Hospital and Chief Physician of the Clinic for Geriatrics at the Oldenburg Rehabilitation Centre since 2019. She studied mathematics at the Lomonosov University in Moscow, USSR, and mathematics and medicine at the Ruhr University in Bochum, gaining a doctorate. This was followed by further education in internal medicine, geriatrics and palliative medicine at Agaplesion Bethanien Hospital in Heidelberg and Heidelberg University Hospital. She also completed her habilitation at the University of Heidelberg. Her research focus is on fall risk factors and training interventions in older people with and without dementia, people with dementia in acute hospitals and delirium prevention. Since 2016, she has headed the Dementia Working Group of the German Geriatrics Society (DGG), is a DGG mandate holder for the S3 guideline on dementia and is an expert in the National Dementia Strategy.
Since April 2023, Tania Zieschang has been Vice Dean for Academic Career Development at School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Prof Dr Maximilian Bockhorn has been Professor of General and Visceral Surgery at the University of Oldenburg and Director of the University Clinic for General and Visceral Surgery at Oldenburg Hospital since 2019. He studied human medicine at the Universities of Tübingen and Hamburg and completed his doctorate. After his time at the UKE and Essen University Hospital, Bockhorn conducted research in the field of tumour biology at Harvard Medical School, Boston (USA). After completing his specialist training as a surgeon and his time at Essen University Hospital, he returned to the UKE, where he initially worked as a senior physician and later as managing senior physician and deputy to the clinic director at the Clinic for General, Visceral and Thoracic Surgery. His clinical focus is on oncological surgery. He has also specialised in minimally invasive surgery for tumour diseases of the liver, gall bladder and pancreas as well as the stomach and oesophagus. Bockhorn is a member of various international specialist societies.
Maximilian Bockhorn has been Dean of Studies at School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences since April 2025.

Prof Dr Rebecca Palm has been appointed to the professorship of Nursing Science at the Department of Health Services Research in 2023. She is also head of the Master's degree programme "Nursing: Advanced Nursing Practice", which started in the winter semester 2024/25. Palm was previously a professor at Witten/Herdecke University. After training as a nurse at the German Heart Centre Berlin, she studied nursing science at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and Witten/Herdecke University, where she also completed her doctorate in 2016. In her research, Palm focuses on the care of older people with dementia and gerontopsychiatric care needs. She is particularly interested in the question of what structural conditions are necessary in care facilities in order to meet the care needs of people with dementia. She is also currently researching the topic of delirium in care facilities for the elderly. Rebecca Palm is particularly committed to the academisation of nursing care.
Since April 2025, Rebecca Palm has been Deputy Dean of Studies at School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
