International Symposium ULRIKE

Thanks to all participants

It was a wonderful experience!

25 years of Theoretical Physics/Complex Systems at ICBM

September 25-26, 2025

University of Oldenburg, ICBM
Campus Wechloy, bldg. W15
Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße 9-11

Format and Objectives

ULRIKE brings together leading experts from different disciplines with a shared interest in applying methods of nonlinear dynamics and stochastic processes to Earth systems analysis. The symposium focuses on the following key areas:

  • Tipping mechanisms, generation of extremes and rare events in excitable systems
  • Process-oriented modeling of biological systems
  • Nonlinear systems under the influence of noise
  • Fundamental aspects of nonlinear dynamics
  • Analysis of data from climate and the Earth system

The scientific program is followed by a social event in honor of Ulrike's contributions to the field and a celebration of the group Theoretical Physics/Complex Systems at ICBM.
