About us
The position is part of the project “Germanium meets Group 13 Elements – Unusual compounds with unprecedented reactivity”. This project involves investigation in the area of molecular Germanium chemistry.
Your tasks
- Synthesis and characterization of molecular Germanium compounds and investigation of the reaction potential with Group 13 element compounds. Performing mechanistic studies (experimental and theoretical)
- Close collaboration with cooperation partners of the project
- Publication of research results in scientific journals
- Active participation in scientific conferences
- Supervision of students
Your profile
Recruitment requirements are:
- Scientific university degree (diploma, master's degree) in chemistry or a comparable discipline
- Passion for inorganic molecular chemistry
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel
Ideally you have:
- Experimental expertise in synthetic organoelement chemistry, especially germanium and aluminium chemistry
- Knowledge of heteronuclei NMR spectroscopy
- Experience in or willingness to learn quantum mechanical computational methods
- Willingness to supervise students
- Very good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
